Health as Worship

Mountain depicting a spiritual health as worship--the practice as a spiritual journey

A Lent-to-Easter journey to lay down stressful living and rebuild rhythms that last.

The Practice

The body is not just biology — it’s a sacred altar where your rhythms become worship.

And this season, we’re not just giving something up…We’re giving our hearts a way back to rhythm

Begins Feb 18 (Lent) | Ends Apr 5 (Easter)

THE COUNTER-LENT INVITATION

A different kind of Lent

In many churches, Lent becomes one question:
“What are you giving up?”

But for many believers, the truth is:
you’ve already given up enough.

You’ve given time.
You’ve given energy.
You’ve given strength.
You’ve carried responsibility.
You’ve served through exhaustion.

So this year, we’re not adding weight.

We’re laying it down.

Not with shame.
Not with self-improvement pressure.
But with sacred practice.

This Lent, we’re giving up stressful living—so we don’t return to it after Easter.

But here’s what happens next:

WHAT THIS IS

What is Health as Worship: The Practice?

Health as Worship: The Practice is a 7-week guided journey from Lent to Easter designed for believers who want faith to become lived—in the body, the mind, the heart, and the spirit.

This isn’t a program you “finish.”
This is a rhythm you learn.

The goal is not intensity.

The goal is sustainability.

Because worship isn’t only what we sing.
It’s what we live.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for the strong believer…

You know how to be faithful.
You know how to endure.
You know how to keep going.

But somewhere underneath that strength, there may also be:

  • stress that never fully shuts off
  • sleep that’s fragmented
  • nervous system overload
  • rising blood pressure or health markers you can’t ignore
  • persistent fatigue
  • a lifestyle that doesn’t reflect the peace you preach

You don’t need to be “fixed.”
You don’t need to try harder.

You need a different rhythm.

HOW IT WORKS

This is not a program you rush through. It is a rhythm you walk through. Over seven weeks, we move gently from Lent to Easter, restoring body, mind, and spirit together.

HEART MONTH

It’s not random that Lent begins during Heart Month

The world says: “Care for your heart.”
God says: “Give Me your heart.”

And when the heart is burdened, the body reflects it.
When the heart is steady, life begins to change from the inside out.

This is why The Practice begins here:

with the heart.

Not as sentiment.
But as the seat of the soul—
where decisions, attention, desire, and direction are formed.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Not performance. Not pressure. Practice.

We live in a culture (and often a church culture) where believers carry silent strain as normal.

But burnout is not holiness.
Chronic stress is not a fruit of the Spirit.
And exhaustion is not your calling.

This is a counter-rhythm.

A return.

A re-ordering.

A space to practice a faith that is spiritually sincere and physically sustainable.

ABOUT ETTA

Etta D. Hornsteiner is an integrative health and wellbeing coach-practitioner and the founder of Health as Worship. Her work invites people of faith to encounter God’s presence through the body—where breath becomes prayer, stillness becomes communion, and everyday rhythms become sacred ground.

Etta holds master’s degrees in Integrative Health & Wellbeing Coaching and Education, and she draws from Christian contemplative tradition, neuroscience, and lifestyle medicine to guide individuals and communities into embodied practices that quiet the nervous system and open interior space for God’s nearness. In her work, wellbeing is not something to strive for or optimize; it emerges naturally as people learn to dwell more fully in God’s presence.

Rather than emphasizing performance or self-improvement, Health as Worship centers on attentiveness—learning to live from the body as God’s dwelling place and to remain with Him in the ordinary, repeated practices of daily life. Etta is board-certified through the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching, credentialed by the International Coaching Federation, and is a HeartMath® Practitioner. Through Health as Worship, she offers a path of sustained formation, where transformation unfolds slowly, gently, and in community.
